Video Recording Guide
for Winter Live Stream
Festive Attire
Wear what you would wear to a Christmas or Holiday party. That can range from nice evening wear to holiday-themed pajamas.
✅ Ugly Christmas sweater? No problem.
✅ Pink bunny onesie? 🐰 Well, maybe :)
❌ NO TENNIS SHOES, SANDALS,FLIP-FLOPS, OR BARE FEET.
Longer hair should be pulled back and away from the face.
Both the audience and the camera prefers faces over blurs of hair 😜
Camera?
If you have a nicer camera and are a cinematographer, then fine. Use whatever you like.
For most others, use your smartphone or tablet.
Make sure that you do so in “landscape” mode. HORIZONTAL (wide-screen) orientation, not vertical/portrait.
Camera Settings
Check your camera settings BEFORE filming!
Video resolution should be AT LEAST 720p or 1080p
(4K is fine but will take much longer to upload)
ZOOM OUT!
Try to capture the entire instrument and performer inside the “frame” of your camera view (see examples below).
Don’t do any CROPS or CLOSEUPS!
Using a tripod or stand may help stabilize a shaky camera. Try not to move around too much during filming.
